Protein Nutrition

Protein nutrition is an element that is necessary in the rebuilding of muscles that have been broken down. Weight lifters often use protein as a way to rebuild their muscles after a workout. However, it is important not to overdo the intake of protein as it causes stress to the kidneys.

Protein nutrition can be found in many different forms, and powder is one of them. Athletes often make post workout shakes with whey powder. Whey is a product of cheese production; it is a transparent liquid that is left over from cheese making after the curd is removed. It contains lactose, protein, and milk solids. Many people aren’t aware that whey contains lactose, and that it may be extra hard on their system if they are lactose intolerant.

Protein nutrition is very important for the body to function on a daily basis. Everyone requires different amounts of protein in a day, and that is where listening to the needs of the body comes in. Red meat as well as soy products contain protein and when eaten are ways that one would receive the recommended daily amount instead of relying on a supplement.
